A native of Warren, Don Drumm studied medicine for two years at Hiram College before pursuing a career in art, earning two degrees at Kent State University then opening his own studio in 1960. As a full-time sculptor, Don and his wife Lisa first expanded the studio in 1971 to include a one-room gallery, which is now part of a complex that now encompasses eight buildings near the University of Akron. Over his rich career, Don has been honored with several awards, including a few of the "lifetime achievement" type, but he has no intention to retire yet and he explains why on this episode of Akropreneurs. Filmed and produced by Ilenia Pezzaniti for The Devil Strip in partnership with the Fund for Our Economic Future and the Burton D. Morgan Foundation.
